Ownership evidence, not brochure rankings

The Ownership Lab

Speed and range sell a scooter. Parts access, battery service, tires, brakes, and support determine whether it remains useful. This is where we document those ownership signals and the evidence behind them.

Commercial relationship disclosure

Electric Scooter Guides is operated in affiliation with Levy Electric and may earn revenue when readers purchase Levy products through this site. That relationship gives us visibility into Levy's parts and service operation; it does not turn manufacturer claims into independent test results. Levy links are labeled as sponsored, and competing products remain in the catalog and comparison tool.

What operational excellence means here

We start with the ownership questions that conventional spec sheets skip. A score will only appear after the same auditable fields exist across enough brands to make it meaningful.

Battery service

Can the pack be removed, replaced, sourced, and charged safely without replacing the vehicle?

Wear-item access

Are tires, tubes, brake parts, fenders, and controls obtainable with model compatibility stated?

Support path

Is there a documented warranty and a practical route to diagnosis, parts, or service?

Evidence quality

Is a claim operationally observed, hands-on, manufacturer-researched, or only a preview?

Evidence labels used sitewide

Operational evidence

Parts, service, failure patterns, or maintenance observations visible through an operating repair and support workflow.

Hands-on

A named tester physically rode or inspected the exact model. Test conditions and limits must be stated.

Manufacturer-researched

Specifications and features checked against an official manufacturer or authorized-market source.

Preview

Announced, preorder, or reservation hardware whose final production specification or ownership record may change.

Legacy catalog

A historical lookup record without a current primary-source link. Every figure must be rechecked before buying.

Older unsourced entries are labeled as legacy catalog records. We do not present inferred long-term ownership, anonymous “our tests,” or a fabricated repairability score.

Current operational dossiers

The first dossiers cover the Levy platform where operational evidence is available.

Levy Light

Levy Light

Best for
Short urban trips, stairs, and riders who value a tool-free battery swap.
Not for
Long rides on one pack or rough roads where suspension matters.
  • External stem battery removes without opening the deck
  • Replacement packs and common service parts are sold separately
  • Pneumatic and solid tire configurations support different maintenance priorities
Levy Plus

Levy Plus

Best for
Daily commuters who want more battery capacity without giving up the removable-pack design.
Not for
Buyers seeking built-in suspension or high-performance acceleration.
  • Higher-capacity external battery remains quick to remove and replace
  • Modular battery makes indoor charging and end-of-life pack replacement simpler
  • Official parts catalog covers wear items and model-specific components
Levy Max

Levy Max

Best for
Riders who want a lighter 25 mph commuter with front suspension and a larger battery.
Not for
Anyone who needs a production-proven ownership record today; this model is still a preorder.
  • 35 lb published weight is unusually low for its advertised speed and battery size
  • 10 x 2.5-inch pneumatic tires and front suspension target everyday road comfort
  • Preorder status is shown explicitly; repair history is not yet available

What comes next

The framework expands brand by brand as comparable parts, support, and service evidence is collected. Until then, missing evidence stays missing—never converted into a confident score.
