Introduction:

I've spent the past few weeks getting intimately familiar with the Vsett 8+ electric scooter. As someone who values both performance and convenience in urban commuting, my experience with this scooter has been notably insightful.

Performance and Speed:

The Vsett 8+ truly stands out in its performance capabilities. With a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), it offers a swift commuting experience, making it ideal for those who are often on the go. This speed, paired with a robust 48V 15.6Ah Li-ion battery, ensures that not only can you travel fast, but also far. The range of 25-31 miles (40-50 km) is more than sufficient for daily commutes and even some leisurely explorations.

Design and Portability:

One of the aspects I appreciate most about the Vsett 8+ is its compact and stylish design. It's evident that the scooter is crafted with city life in mind; its foldable nature makes it incredibly convenient for carrying in public transport or storing in tight spaces. This feature has been a lifesaver for me, especially when navigating through crowded city areas.

Comfort and Ride Experience:

Riding comfort is another area where the Vsett 8+ shines. The dual coil swingarm suspension is a game-changer, particularly on uneven city terrain. It absorbs most bumps and provides a surprisingly smooth ride. However, I did find the deck a bit cramped, especially during longer rides. This might be a point to consider for riders with larger feet or those who prefer more standing room.

Power and Torque:

The dual 600W motors are impressive, offering enough power for various riding conditions. I was particularly pleased with its hill-climbing capabilities. Whether it's a steep incline or a long, gradual hill, the Vsett 8+ handles it with ease, a feature that is not common in many scooters in its class.

Build Quality and Safety Features:

The overall build quality of the Vsett 8+ is solid. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, reassuring me of its longevity. The safety features, including reliable brakes and enhanced visibility, add to the sense of security while riding. However, I noticed some minor issues with cable management and the solid tires that could be improved upon.

Drawbacks:

Despite its many strengths, there are a few areas where the Vsett 8+ could use improvement. The deck size, as mentioned earlier, is slightly restrictive. Additionally, the solid tires, while maintenance-free, don’t offer the same level of comfort as pneumatic tires would. These are minor issues but worth noting for potential buyers.

Conclusion:

Overall, my experience with the Vsett 8+ electric scooter has been overwhelmingly positive. It strikes a fine balance between speed, comfort, and portability, making it an excellent choice for urban commuters. While it has a few areas that could be enhanced, the advantages it offers far outweigh these minor drawbacks. For anyone in search of a reliable, efficient, and enjoyable ride, the Vsett 8+ is a scooter worth considering.

Update After 6 Months of Ownership:

Over the past six months, the Vsett 8+ has continued to be a reliable companion in my day-to-day commutes. It has maintained its performance, though some wear and tear are expected over time. The battery life remains strong, though like any rechargeable battery, it shows a slight decrease in maximum capacity, which is typical for lithium-ion batteries.

Positive Attributes:

  • Durability: The scooter's build quality is holding up well despite frequent use. It has endured various weather conditions and road types without any significant issues.

  • Comfort: The suspension still performs admirably, which is crucial on the less maintained city streets.

  • Portability: Continues to be one of its strongest points, especially valuable in an urban environment where space is at a premium.

Negative Attributes:

  • Tire Performance: As expected, the solid tires, while not requiring maintenance, do not absorb shocks as well as air-filled alternatives. This has become more noticeable as the scooter ages.

  • Deck Space: Still feels cramped, particularly on longer rides. This has been somewhat limiting, especially when wearing larger winter boots.

In summary, the Vsett 8+ remains a top contender in its category with a robust feature set that caters well to urban environments. While it does have areas that could be improved, particularly concerning comfort over rugged surfaces, it continues to deliver value and reliability, making it a worthwhile investment for regular commuters.
